THE PROBLEM
The material world runs on hazardous chemistry.
Nearly all materials in textiles, food, packaging, and cosmetics begin as fossil carbon: refined through hazardous chemistry that industries are restricting faster every year for its pollution and toxicity. Color is where we start.
1. Petroleum. Fossil carbon.
Color synthesis depends on non-renewable raw material.

Feedstock: benzene, toluene, naphthalene.

HOW PROTIVA MAKES COLOR
01 — DISCOVERY
Screening microorganisms from the most extreme environments.
Conventional nature is already mapped, and limited → the extremes aren’t. Samples isolated there are analyzed with AI and bioinformatics to select the microorganisms that produce building blocks of colors with industrial potential.

02 — PRODUCTION
Fermentation scales building-block production to industrial level.
Microorganisms multiply in fermentation tanks at room temperature, grown on renewable biomass to biologically produce the selected building blocks.

03 — DEPLOY
One building block, modulated into many colors.
The building block is the chemical foundation from which we obtain a family of industrial chemicals using green chemistry. From a single bioprocess, we can obtain a family of colors, without heavy metals or hazardous components.

04 — APPLY
Each color is formulated into a range of products.
Every color ships with a material-specific recipe, so it applies cleanly across materials and industries reducing energy consumption, water usage, and industrial discharge with every use.

MEET OUR PRODUCTS
A family of bio-based dyes and pigments from natural extreme environments. Traceable, azo-free, heavy-metal-free, compliant with certifications like ZDHC MRSL, REACH, OEKO-TEX, GOTS, bluesign and compatible with existing manufacturing infrastructure.
The first family of colors is in active development with bioprocess 01. And two more spectra are already in the pipeline.
